December and End Year Round-up

Winter Wonderland

Hello Lovely people!

Happy New Year! 明けましておめでとう!Selamat Tahun Baru! Gelukkige Nuwe Jaar!

We wish you a great 2017 filled with love and happiness all year round.

We’ve been having a busy month, and due to that we were only able to post pictures on our Instagram account from time to time. For our first blog post in 2017, we decided to compile some of the relaxing activities we have had in December.

5. Christmas Light Hunting

We visited Winter Wonderland (for grilled salmon and chicken bratwurst), Regent’s St., and Piccadilly Circus to view the Christmas lights.

4. Christmas dinner, and Boxing Day shopping

Over the Christmas weekend we made a lot of mess by cooking, baking, and eating for romantic Christmas dinner. On the Boxing Day, we did a little shopping spree at Oxford street and bought ourselves a matching satchels from Cambridge Satchel Company, and Ayran bought himself a pair of trekking shoes from Timberland.

3. New Years Eve

We had an early dinner at Kobe Sushi restaurant for ‘toshi koshi’ (年越し) noodles (soba or udon), ‘year-crossing noodles’ and sushi to pay respect to Sofia’s Japanese heritage, and to celebrate the ending of the year and the coming of a new year. After that we left for the New Year’s Eve countdown at Westminster (Savoy Pier) opposite the London Eye to view the fireworks. We have posted a video of London’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks on our youtube channel.

Happy 2017!

2. Christmas at Kew

On the 2nd January, we went for the last day of annual Christmas at Kew event at Kew Gardens. Although it was very cold at night, we spent  nearly 2 hours enjoying the walk and lighting.

1.  Short trip to Bath

For a short city break, we decided to go to Bath (Cotswold) with Oto-san and Oka-san for 3 days. We found a comfortable apartment to stay from Airbnb which was conveniently situated to the city center. On leaving Bath, we decided to take a detour to the most beautiful village in Cotswold known as Castle Combe on our way back to London and had a late lunch. In our upcoming blog, we will be writing about our Bath escape 🙂
